Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)

Tennessee Public Health Association provides nursing contact hours at educational meetings and conferences through The University of Tennessee, College of Nursing.  The University of Tennessee, College of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Tennessee Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The specific criteria for awarding contact hours for TPHA sponsored events varies and is available on event promotional materials.

Certified Health Education Specialist, CHES and MCHES

TPHA is a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc.

The 2021 Spring Meeting is sponsored by the Tennessee Public Health Association, a designated multi event provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH) in health education by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. This program is designated for Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) and/or Master Certified Health Education Specialists (MCHES) to receive up to 5 total Category I contact education contact hours or 1hr per session. Maximum advanced-level continuing education contact hours available are 5 hrs.  Continuing Competency credits are not available for these sessions.

To receive credit for attending the virtual Spring Meeting sessions, complete the downloadable form and return it to micky.roberts2@icloud.com . After posting of credits by NCHEC you will receive an E-mailed certificate.

Certified in Public Health (CPH) Accreditation

The 2021 Spring Meeting was approved for Certified in Public Health (CPH) continuing education credits by the University of Memphis School of Public Health, an approved provider by the National Board of Public Health Examiners.  Up to 5 CPH Recertification Credits may be earned at this event. TPHA has filed with the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE) to approve 15 hours of CPH (Certified in Public Health) recertification credits for the 2020 TPHA annual conference. Please note that attendees do not need a certificate of attendance or other documentation from TPHA to receive these credits. Simply log on to the NBPHE website and file for the credits.

Continuing Medical Education

TPHA’s 2020 Virtual Conference was approved for 15 CME credits by the American Academy of Family Physicians. CME credit is available for live sessions only, no credit is given for viewing recorded sessions.
